I have some news for readers of The Take-Out Diet. I’m rewriting the book, and a new edition is planned for early 2027.
Why a new edition?
I wrote the first edition by reading the research as it stood at the time, and since then the science of food, weight and long-term health has kept moving. A good book on this subject should be willing to check itself against the newest evidence, keep what holds up, and say plainly when something has changed. That is what this rewrite is for.
What stays the same
The idea at the heart of the book isn’t changing: diets fail for most people, and doing less is often better than doing more. The six steps remain the starting point, and the book will stay simple, evidence-based and free of food fads.
How you can follow along
- Read the chapters and articles on this site. They are free, and I will update them as the new edition takes shape.
- Download the free guide, which has three chapters from the current edition.
- Get in touch through the contact page if there is a question you’d like the new edition to answer.
The current edition is still available on Amazon. I’ll post the publication date here as soon as it’s confirmed.
